Words used: legion, nostalgia, bluntly, megalomania, coup

"Why? How did this happened?" These questions raced through Lance's mind over and over again. He was surrounded by a legion by men, everyone holding a gun. Just then, a figure walked towards him. "Hello, Lance. How are you?" the figure greeted bluntly. The voice, it sounds familiar, Lance thought. Taking a closer look, he realised that it was Hubert, his best friend. At that moment, a feeling of nostalgia came over him. "What do you want from me?" Lance continued staring at him.

Hubert had disappeared ever since the day they quarreled. He was nowhere to be found. And now, he appeared just in front of Lance's very eyes. "Nothing," Hubert smirked, "You know that I have always had megalomania. And now, I need your help. To help me with my coup." Lance hesitated. What have become of his friend, he wondered. "No, I will not," Lance replied.

Hubert gave a mysterious smile, "oh well. Then I think it's time to say goodbye to your loved ones. Lock him up, boys."

a) Do parents over-control their child nowadays?

A common question asked amongst people might be - do parents control their child too much nowadays? Yes, teenagers like us may most probably be answering. But parents may give the total opposite answer - "No."

The point of views of a parent and a child may differ. Sometimes, the differences between a child and a parent may lead to numerous disagreements and arguments. This will thus result in the child being rebellious and even talk back to their parents as days pass by. Thus, parents may start controlling their child, hoping that their child might just become obedient again. But little do they realise that their child might not like the idea.

On the other hand, we should also give a thought for our parents. They go for work early in the morning and come back late at night, just to ensure that we can have whatever things we want. But they would get really disappointed and hurt if they come back from work and their child just start quarreling with them or giving them attitude. Which parent wouldn’t feel hurt after having an argument with their child or being treated coldly by their child?

In my opinion, parents and child should spend more “quality time” together in order to get to know more about each other and how they truly feel, instead of arguing every single day and end up hurting each other.

Finally, he smiled to himself. The day he had been waiting for had arrived. Gabriel put away all the irrelevant stuffs and walked into the room innately. Deep in his heart, he hoped that this interview would not be an abortive one.

Gabriel had been craving for a job ever since he was graduated. "Even graduates have difficulty finding a job now," his mother had once told him. He took in a deep breath and started his interview. "Mr. Gabriel, we have called you here as we have realised that you have a latent music talent. So we would like you to work for us," a woman told him. Gabriel stared at the woman and wondered, a latent music talent?

Noticing the curious look on Gabriel's face, the woman continued, "Yes, you are the one we deemed to be the next generation's pop artiste." Gabriel continued staring at the woman, a pop artiste? He couldn't believe what is he hearing now! "Let me show you what I mean," the woman said as she showed him the way to another room.

"You are indeed a clever lass. I have mistaken you as a gullible dupe. You may proceed," the mysterious man said, opening the door to the tower after Jane had solved the enigma. She went in and walked up the murky stairs, cautiously. She looked out the window and saw the threatening sky outside. "I must hurry," she thought and quickened her pace.

Soon, she reached the top. A door, she thought. She opened it and crept in as quietly as possible, only to realise that she had landed herself in a labyrinth. She tried turning back but the big, wooden door was shut tightly behind her. Jane carried on, not knowing that this was another component for her to pass to get to the next stage.
