March Holiday Homework

a) Do parents over-control their child nowadays?

A common question asked amongst people might be - do parents control their child too much nowadays? Yes, teenagers like us may most probably be answering. But parents may give the total opposite answer - "No."

The point of views of a parent and a child may differ. Sometimes, the differences between a child and a parent may lead to numerous disagreements and arguments. This will thus result in the child being rebellious and even talk back to their parents as days pass by. Thus, parents may start controlling their child, hoping that their child might just become obedient again. But little do they realise that their child might not like the idea.

On the other hand, we should also give a thought for our parents. They go for work early in the morning and come back late at night, just to ensure that we can have whatever things we want. But they would get really disappointed and hurt if they come back from work and their child just start quarreling with them or giving them attitude. Which parent wouldn’t feel hurt after having an argument with their child or being treated coldly by their child?

In my opinion, parents and child should spend more “quality time” together in order to get to know more about each other and how they truly feel, instead of arguing every single day and end up hurting each other.
